I Dare You to Say No to this Face...

I came across this picture of Hope - it was taken when she was 2 years old.

It's always been one of my favorites.

I Think it's Perfectly Normal; Part XXIV

Whenever I see a snail, I always pick it up and put it in the grass - away from where people are walking - so that no one will step on it.

I like snails.

I think they're cute.

I don't think they should be stepped on.

Or eaten.

Or have salt poured on them.

Come on people! They could have a whole snail family waiting at home for them. Do you have any idea how long it takes a snail to get from Point A to Point B?

That sweet little snail family could be waiting for days before they even know that anything is wrong!

People......

Please!

Optimism, Pessimism and Flat out Miraculous

My view on whether or not the glass is half empty or half full tends to vary from time to time.

Except when I spill the glass while I'm driving.

At which point I see the it as freakin' miraculous that a tiny little glass of water can soak my clothes as well as the entire inside of my car.

I Think it's Perfectly Normal; Part XXIII

I know every single word of this movie.

I incorporate phrases into my every day conversations with people whenever possible.

One of my favorite quotes is, "You're very smart. Shut up."

But it's all good.

The movie boasts one moment of brilliance after another.

Random Motherhood Confession #1

Whenever I play Hide-and-Seek with the kids, I wait as long as I possibly can to go find them.

It's the only way I can enjoy a few extra moments of total silence.

My record is 4 minutes.

I have learned (the hard way) to tell the kids that some hiding spots (like the one pictured) are off-limits.

Jack is 3 Years Old (tomorrow)!

My sweet boy is turning 3 (tomorrow).

It's hard to believe...

Yesterday...

Today...

Dear Jack,
I don't know that I can put into words how much I love you - how much joy you've brought to Daddy, Hopey and me. You make me laugh all the time. You remind me that life is to be enjoyed - that I should should stop and we "wowed" by things more often. I'm so proud of you - I'm so excited to watch your life unfold. I can't wait to see you, hug you, talk to you and laugh with you every day. Thank you for all the joy you bring to my heart.

Happy Birthday my beautiful boy - Momma loves you...

She took Classy to a Whole New Level

Kurt was in line at the store.

There was an older woman in line in front of him.

She was purchasing 3 bottles of wine.

She looked a little - ummm.... weathered.

Tough.

Smokey.

Leathery.

Anyway.

The cashier asked her if she'd like a box for the wine.

"Whaddya wanna give me a box for?" was her raspy response.

"I just wanted to help you get the wine home easier" he replied.

She leaned over the counter and sneered, "If ya wanna help me with my wine, crack one of these bottle open and give me a straw."

So classy...
