Okay, I admit it.
I... am a total nerd.
And I'm totally okay with it. In fact - I embrace it.
Here are a few facts that support my claim:
I LOVE anything science fiction or fantasy (Lord of the Rings, Vampires, Star Trek - it's all awesome).
My favorite birthday gift of all time (aside from sentimental family gifts, of course) is a complete set of blueprints to the The Starship Enterprise NCC-1701-D (Baker Family - I will forever love you for that).
I love to talk about inconsistencies in movies such as X-Men, Wolverine, The Matrix, etc.
My iPhone has both a Tricord app as well as a phaser app and I play with these apps on a regular basis.
I incorporate jargon from Star Trek The Next Generation into my everyday conversations. For example, I will use sci-fi speak to describe every day things. (an example might be - instead of saying "there's a crack in my windshield," I will say - "hull integrity is down to 72%" - or I will refer to a flashlight as a palm beacon - or... instead of "going poo" I will say "jettison the core").
Hmmm....Perhaps I've said too much....
Roll your eyes at me.
Shout out NerdAlert when I walk in the room.
Resistance is Futile.

You are a complete geek. But I'm a complete geek too so it's fine.

I love science fiction. It's a way of life!
When did this science fiction obsession begin? I don't remember that from college...I remember I love Lucy and VeggieTales...but, scifi? I have never seen an entire episode of StarTrek...but, Steve forced me to go see the StarTrek movie and much to my dismay I actually didn't hate...(I almost kind of liked it!)! :)
You are a complete dork, but we all are in some way or another.
I prefer to talk behind your back than shout DORK! to your face ;)
I'm not alone! I once spent half an hour looking for the perfect u tube video to link to a the word "transported" on one of my blog posts. I HAD TO HAVE ME SOME STAR TREK! I actually have to edit myself. In bible study today, I started to think that someone should write a study on Star trek bible analogies. All because someone mentioned the word "Shield". Then I actually thought this sentence, "God is a tractor beam". Luckily, I didn't say anything outloud.
tee hee. I'm a nerd and a geek. :-) So don't worry. Joann, I had the same thought! I'm trying to prove that Star Trek is deeper then Degrassi and Lost. BUT the topic turned out to be the Holy Trinity. great. lol
