Super Smelly Bedtime Stories

Hope was about 3 years old. I was laying next to her in her bed telling her a night-night story.

We were nose to nose.

She interrupts my story and says in her sweetest, most matter-of-fact voice,

"Momma, when you talk it makes my nose stink."

The end.

Now THAT is funny. Did she tell you this AFTER she asked you not to sing to her? Poor Heidi, your kids inadvertently have made you a candidate for therapy! Wait til they start doing it intentionally!!! Just don't ever let them work at Starbucks!

I love your posts!!!

HA HA HA! That's why I always chew gum.

One morning my sister-in-law was snuggling her 5 year old daughter. My niece jumped up and said "Mom! It smells like you ate poop!"

Recently, same sister-in-law showed her teenager a picture of herself in a bikini when she was a teenager. My niece said "Mom, did you photoshop your head on that body. You could never look that hot" Kids are always good for insults (or is it the truth???? Scary!)

Even gum-chewing doesn't always cut it. When my 6th grade class took ballroom dancing, whenever I danced with Helen McKissick, her breath was like a septic tank in the middle of a mint patch. She chewed Wrigley's Spearmint--I never trusted that gum after that!

That is hysterical! I think my husband has told me that, but not Kaleb (yet) :)

Brutal honesty...yet another thing you can get away with in childhood! Don't worry: someday these things will all come back in payback from her own kids. I should know: my kids pay me back everyday for the sins of my youth.
