I can read!
___________
Since I graduated college, I haven't done much pleasure reading. I've done a lot of reading for work, things like all of Patrick Lencioni, Malcom Gladwell, Marcus Buckingham - stuff like that.
But I haven't read any novels.
Until vacation when I started reading a little book called....
Twilight.
Don't judge me.
And now I can't stop. And every book I've read I've been obsessed with finishing. It's like I can't concentrate on anything else!
What's happening?
Since my vacation began on August 28th, I have read the following:
- Twilight
- New Moon
- Eclipse
- Breaking Dawn
- The Secret Life of Bees
- My Sister's Keeper
- Shutter Island (this is the new Scorsese movie w/ Leo DiCaprio that's coming out soon. I HIGHLY recommend it)
- The Russian Concubine (again, don't judge me)
I'm still reading The Russian Concubine - so I can't give a report on that one. But all of the others one were awesome. AWESOME!
On my bookshelf, just waiting for me to read them are:
- Say You're One of Them
- Friday Night Knitting Club
- Time Traveller's Wife
- Water for Elephants
- The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
I'm loving it. I have very little interest in television (which I am also loving).
Reading is so.....
Satisfying.
Who knew?

It's a great obsession that keeps your mind busy and the eye doctors in business. I've been reading at least a book a week for the last two months. I need to stop soon lest my family think I've had a book surgically attached to my face. Welcome to the habit!

LOVED the Potato Peel book! Water for Elephants was also an entertaining read...
Outlander, Heidi. Read Outlander. You'll never be the same again. You won't sleep, either, until you finish all seven books in the series. ;)
Wasn't My Sister's Keeper good? I cried, but I thought it was a good book. I love reading! :)
I started reading again (I was a avid reader as a kid) when Jacob was a baby. I love it to. Check out shelfari.com to keep track of what books you read. It's pretty fun. I just started Twilight yesterday, I can tell I won't be getting much done for a while!
Happy reading!
So are you now sporting a button of Edward's face on your lapel? I read a LOT when I was nursing (not the employment kind, but the lactating kind). I fell in love with historical fiction by Norah Lofts. However, there are a few of her books that aren't that great, so if you want to try them, check with me for good titles. Happy reading!
Good stuff! It is addicting, especially once you open a winner. I've read three of your upcoming books and liked them a lot. (Traveller's Wife, Water for Elephants and Potatoe Peel.) Keep it up and keep sharing your recommendations!
I just saw that I put an "e" on potato. How horrifying. Call me Dan Quayle.
Wow, that is quite the list in such a short amount of time! I wish I could say the same. Brandi
I am going to B&N today . . . I have a couple that I want to pick up and one or two for you . . . 6th round of the Twilight series . . . I am shameless . . .
i'm inspired. i started a new book last night. but i wouldn't put it in the same category of some of these other ones... but so far it is pretty good.
