You wanna be a what?!

(WARNING: This blog post contains images that may be disturbing for younger audiences. Viewer discretion is advised.)

Jack was sitting on our bed looking at books. Out of nowhere he looks up at me and says,

"Momma I wanna be a clown when I grow up."

(for those of you who don't know, I'm unbelievably horrified by clowns)

"Ummm..... no, honey. No clowns - okay?"

"Okay Momma - I'm gonna be a great big clown!"

Oh dear.

Will I have to resort to showing him my clown pictures?

Here is a sample.

(and in case you're wondering, the answer is NO. I'm not really going to show him this picture... I won't lie, I considered it for a second or two - but I'm not really going to do it. So please don't send me hate mail. Thank you.)

I dare you...show him that one right before bed. You will both have a rough night but I am sure he will never say he wants to be a clown again. :)

My sympathies. You'll have to find some non-traumatic way to ease him into a new career path. Steve's been insisting on being infantry in the military (my trying to steer him to a desk job was going nowhere). However, reading "All Quiet on the Western Front" has completely changed his mind, so maybe there's some great book out there that Jack can read when he's older.

Oh boy! Good luck! Although I think chances are pretty good that when he gets a bit older he'll change his career path : )

Stephen wanted to be Barney at one point. Thankfully Barney retired.

Rebellion starts young, eh? Either that or a wicked sense of humor. Hee Hee.

so I'm guessing when you would go to Janel's birthday parties when you were little, and my mom's best friend Gini Kelley dressed up as a clown, you wanted to go home? :) I probably would have freaked out too except I knew it was Gini, thankfully. Clowns are super freaky.
