Uh, yeah.... It's not a doll.

Hope has a Babushka doll that my aunt gave her. It's very special - lots of sentimental value. Hand painted - from their friends in the Urkraine... It's really nice.

Jack discovered it.

And he loves it.

So, in the interests of keeping the peace, I got them each one for Christmas. One that is cute, but doesn't have any sentimental meaning attached to it.

Last night, Jack is playing with one of them. I ask him, "do you love playing with your Babushka Doll?"

He gives me a withering glare and says, "His name is Butch, Momma. He is NOT a doll."

Was there every any doubt? The boy has exuded testosterone since the moment he was born!

Apparently I can't type because I have estrogen running through my veins: that should read "ever" not "every". My bad.

Hi Heidi! I popped over here from your facebook page. Your family is soo beautiful! We are doing great. Cam and I moved out to Hermiston after he graduated from college. He took a job here with a CPA firm and we've been here ever since. We had our three babies here and love it. I stay at home with our three and feel so blessed to be able to! It was so fun to see your smiling face on FB!

Are those things really dolls anyway? They always seemed like oddly-humanly-shaped containers for other human-shaped containers. I'm with Jack. "Butch, the Manly Fighting Box" sounds good to me

Okay, so I added a little extra to the name, but I guess that's what I'd call my Babushka doll if I got one.
