How can Matthew McCon...however you spell it.. and the guy from Napolean Dynamite even be in the same category? That one threw me off a bit.

Oh, good choices. A few I would vote strongly for: Dennis Quaid. (Viggo is too sexy/mysterious--not what I'm looking for in a father figure.) Also, Nicole Kidman. Although she's gorgeous (one of my reservations about Gwyneth), she's got that sweet demeanor (moulin rouge not considered.)

Heigl would be perfect. McConaughey, because I always think of Almanzo in that dreamy, broad chested way. Jennifer Garner--LOVE her--would be my choice for the leading heroine. Kelsey Grammer for Doc Baker! Ha! Love it!

On a side note, has Kristi told you that we went to school with one of the twins who played baby Grace? Her name is Wendy Shlecht, and she was really sweet. She and her twin sister were on the show for the last few years. One year she lived right next to me and I drilled her about stories of the set and their reunions. She said Michael Landon was as sweet as he seemed, Melissa Gilbert was really friendly, as was the girl who played Nellie. She remembered the girl who played Mary being a little stuck-up. Funny, huh?
