Don't call me Denise.

I work full time. I don't mind it most of the time. I need to work and I'm fortunate enough to have a great job that I enjoy (most of the time).

But there are days when it's really hard to drop your two year old off at daycare.

We are blessed to have the greatest child care provider ever. She's PERFECT for Jack. She loves him so much and he loves her too. Her name is Denise and she's been a wonderful blessing to us.

But....

Yesterday when I got home from work (Kurt picked the kids up this time), I ran in and gave the kids big hugs. Then Jack looked at me and said with great excitement, "come play with me Denise!"

I felt like I'd been kicked in the stomach.

Like I said, I'm thankful for my job -I like my job - I NEED my job.

But it's hard sometimes...

I have been there...I remember it and it did hurt. But you are his Mommy and a good one at that and he knows it. :)

NO! Not good. But he didn't mean it. I'm sure you call him Hope sometimes? Maybe even Kurt? I've even called my kids by our dog's name....it happens.

You are a wonderful mommy. And Denise is a wonderful care-giver. He knows the difference! :)

Has Jack ever thought about a career at Starbucks?

I am called grandma very frequently my mistake. I really don't want to hear a small child call me grandma for like 20 years!
